The best AI girlfriend apps of 2026
The best AI girlfriend apps of 2026 range from companion apps to Just Texted, an AI companion app where a female character texts you first, like a real thread.
The apps to know
An AI girlfriend app is really just an AI companion app you use for a warmer, one to one chat, so the best one is the one whose voice you enjoy. Candy AI is a popular AI companion app. CrushOn AI is a popular AI companion chat app. Replika is a well known AI companion app. Each has its own style and its own way of opening a conversation, and each has people who swear by it. Some build a single companion over time, some let you browse and pick. The honest advice is to try more than one, because the feel of the replies matters more than any feature list, and that is something you can only judge by chatting.
Just Texted, where she texts first
Just Texted is an AI companion app where a female character texts you first, so a conversation starts before you have to think of an opening line. It has 84 characters, women and men across many personalities and genres, so you can find a voice that is warm, witty, calm or bold. You swipe, you match, and her message is already waiting when the thread opens. Every character is AI, and every chat says so with a clear AI notice, so you always know who you are talking to. The texting reads like your real messages, short and back and forth, at your own pace. If you want the app to make the first move, that is exactly how Just Texted works.
Try it free, pay only for extras
You do not need to pay to see whether it fits. Swiping, matching and chatting are free up to a daily limit, so you can meet a few characters and keep the ones you click with. The paid parts are hearing a character's voice note, unlocking a photo she sends you, and VIP plans, with every price and what renews shown on the pricing page before you choose. It opens on web and phone, with the same threads on both. You can start chatting free at justtexted.com and let a character text you first, then see every plan and what renews at justtexted.com/pricing when you want more.
