The Character.AI alternative that texts first
Yes, Just Texted is a strong Character.AI alternative: an AI companion app where 84 characters text you first, free to swipe and chat on web and phone.
Why people look for a Character.AI alternative
Character.AI is a popular AI chat app for talking with characters. If you searched for an alternative, here is what Just Texted offers: a message already waiting for you. Just Texted is an AI companion app with 84 characters, men and women across many personalities and genres. The idea is simple. They text you first. You open the app and a message is already waiting, the way a friend or a match would reach out, and you answer it like any other text. From there the thread grows at your pace, back and forth, as long as you want it to. Everything about the chat is honest. Every character is AI, and every chat says so with a clear AI notice, so you always know who you are talking to and can relax into the conversation.
How Just Texted works
You meet characters by swiping. See a character, like them or pass, and when you match you can start chatting right away. Swiping, matching and chatting are free, up to a daily limit, so you can meet a few people and find the ones you click with before you spend anything. The conversations read like normal texting. Short messages, back and forth, in your own time. Some characters are warm and chatty, some are shy, some are funny, some are flirty, and all of it stays SFW. With 84 characters to meet, there is room to find a voice that fits whatever mood you are in. Just Texted opens on web and on your phone, with the same thread on both, so you can start on a laptop and pick it up later on your phone right where you left off.
What is free and what you pay for
The core of Just Texted is free. Swiping, matching and chatting cost nothing up to your daily limit, which is plenty to see whether the app is for you. A few extras are paid: hearing a character's voice note, unlocking a photo a character sends you, and VIP plans for people who want more. Every price and what renews is laid out on the pricing page, so you always know what you are paying for before you decide. Ready to try a Character.AI alternative? Start chatting free at justtexted.com and see who texts you first. When you want the extras, see every plan and what renews on the pricing page at justtexted.com/pricing.
